Who is Omitola
aka
Voodoo Bae?

Omitola Iyalaje is a Cali girl with southern roots, who grew up in LA but has made Atlanta her home since 2006. She is the youngest of 36 children, a renowned African Spiritual counselor, published author, certified life coach, actress, and a fully initiated Olorisha to various Orisha “Divinities”.

She is the Nene Umale (Queen Mother) at the Olokaigbe Priesthood/Temple, where she is part of a very special class of priest known as the Olookan. There she fulfills her destiny as a “Path Finder” by guiding those seeking spiritual empowerment and life transformation. Combining her life coaching skills, her spiritual gifts and wisdom, she mentors both men and women alike. Omitola considers herself to be a woman’s woman… Sisterhood, the liberation of women everywhere, and the restoration of the divine feminine to its rightful place in all facets of society is at the forefront of her mission.

Omitola has been traveling the globe since she was a child, spending her early years touring with her Father’s band, making her first trip to Ghana, West Africa in 1999, where she gave birth to her only daughter just 26 days after stepping foot on the continent. This trip would introduce her to the African Spiritual system known as Ifa and change her life forever. Since then, she has lived in several countries in Africa, including Ghana, Benin Republic, and Nigeria, where she was later able to trace her ancestry.

“Traveling has taught me more than any book I’ve ever read. Its the difference between knowledge and wisdom’

Omitola has studied with some of the masters of our time but considers life itself to be her greatest teacher. Truly a woman of many titles, talents, and experiences, Omitola is carving out a lane that is all her own.

“Who says you can’t be it all, do it all, have it all… If you have the talent and the desire, the possibilities are endless. To truly fulfill your destiny you can not put limitations on your potential. I don’t believe in putting myself in a  box.”

Omitola is working to expand the Olokaibe Temple and bringing African spirituality to the door steps of Black people in the US, helping them return to the ways of their ancestors. She is also currently working to expand VB Cosmetics, hosting her podcast, OmiOmy, and building the Voodoo Bae Brand into a global empire.

The sky is just the beginning…

“As a writer, an actress, a priestess, and a person, it is my hope to be a living example of the concept of possibility, to allow the depth of my experiences to move, motivate, and inspire the world. I wish to create in my work the space for myself and others, to laugh and be hopeful, to cry and face reality, to question and to change, to dream and to realize, to live fully…”
